The Professor as we came to call Glen D. Edwards, is a passionate man, and realized that there were many more stories about this conflict, that needed to be told. The human toll of this war has still not been realized and unfortunately it is our children that ended up carrying the can for an incompetent Government that would not (and still does not) accept their full responsibilities. They still do not accept the effects of "Agent Orange" upon our troops, and the many deaths attributed to under-strength platoons sent into combat areas, where only a very large force should be sent.
I have read quite a few (Historical) reports about incidents in which I was involved. I have to say that the only thing about those reports that I will agree on is the time, date, location and personnel involved. Any other facts seem to be lost some where in the telling. This is sad, because it makes already bitter and twisted ex-soldiers, even worse. Why do the facts on a given incident have to be altered is beyond me, it happened, there is no going back, so tell it like it was. In one incident, it took three days to build a bridge to get armoured section across a river (creek) when it would have taken them 2 hours to go to the nearest bridge, cross and come back to the area of incident. This was one of the strangest calls I ever came across in my whole time in the Army. Obviously some one knew a lot more about this problem than I did. It would have taken just a little bit longer to bring in a new armoured section from Nui Dat. I do not remember any of this is the transcript.
"I wish to report a mistake in a transcript. Sorry, you have to go through the correct procedure. What is the correct procedure? I do not know, you will have to ask some one who is in charge. Could you please get me some one who is in charge please? Well, no because he is on holidays at the moment, and even if he were here, he could not help you because it needs the Author's approval before any changes can be made and we think he might of died. &###%@@&%*$#% the system."
This site is being built as personal therapy while I go through a bad stage of trying to keep my shit together. If any other person finds it useful, then that is a bonus. If you find it detrimental, then do not come back, because anything can and will be written when I have my "Black Moods".
